New Honda VFR1000 Launch in India

Now Honda India is about planning to launch VFR1000 bike in India. VFR1000 bike is a 1000cc version of its existing Honda VFR800 bike in India in 2010.

The Honda India said about the launching of new bike at the time of launch of new Honda CBF Stunner model. HMSI will import the 800cc bike, VFR800 as a CBU from the parent company, Honda Japan. It is also expected that Honda India will launch other bikes or scooters later this year.

They have been told that Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is also planning to launch the new 1000cc variant of the VFR by 2010. HMSI sold 907,000 bikes in the financial year 2007-08 in India which is 27% up as compared to the 715,000 units sold in 2006-07.

The Honda VFR800 was first introduced in 1983 with a 750 V4 engine (VFR750), since 1983 it is gone through a number of modification which have resulted in today's fuel injected, largely aluminium, modern 781 cc motor. This knocks out around 110 PS and can happily manage 150 mph in comfort. The fairing gives good weather protection as Honda spent some time developing the aerodynamics to improve airflow, it is also not too bulky compared to traditional tourers. If you apply front brake pressure, some effort will be transferred to the rear, while rear brake pressure transfers some to the front brakes.VFRs also feature a single sided swing arm which can make tyre changes easier. Under the fairing is Honda’s legendary and unique V4 engine which seems to capture the torque of a V-twin with the power and smoothness of an inline 4.
