Finding Fanny' out soon as book

The dashingly hot duo Deepika Padukone-Arjun Kapoor quirky comedy film Finding Fanny, is all set for a theatrical release. But not everybody knows that the screenplay of the film Finding Fanny was adapted from a novel by the film's co-writer. The 200-page novel is soon expected to be out in next year.

“My co-writer, Kersi Khambatta, wrote the novel based on my short story of Finding Fanny Movie Reviews, and then we used that to develop the screenplay. My only issue was that I told him to keep the book on ice until the film was out,” says director Homi Adajania .“Now that it is releasing soon, Kersi can pimp the novel to publishers. It’s a funny read, and way more convoluted than the script,” he added.

Two years after the film that hit the box office Cocktail, director Homi Adajania is back with bang and a idiosyncratic misadventure; this time about a dappled crew looking for a postman's lost love through Goa. The Hindi and English versions of Finding Fanny will hit the theatres on September 12, across India and in various 40 international territories, which form the exodus markets targeted by most main stream Bollywood films.  The film makers believe that Homi Adajania, the director has made a outstanding global film that will be accepted in any market. "The difference between the two versions is just three-four minutes and not a complete re-edit. This English version will be cut by Nick Moore to cater to that audience," Director Homi Adajania said in a statement."It's the same story but will be told in a way that the firangs understand better," he added.

The English and Hindi versions of Finding Fanny will hit theatres Sep 12. Dev D Movie Review

This time director Anurag Kashyap has come up with the latest version. If you watch the movie, you’ll find a major difference between K.L. Saigal, Dilip Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhay Deol’s Devdas.

Let me clarify that how the DEV D is different from others. Dev, the lead character of the move, is into drugs and vodka. Paro sends her nude pic to Dev via email and later, wants Dev to have sex with her in the fields. Chanda, a hooker, indulges in phone sex mainly. Clearly, Kashyap’s Dev, Paro and Chanda are audacious and rebellious.

Emotional Attyachar BandOne can say that DEV D is a bridge between original and Bhasali’s Devdas. In ‘Dev D’ the director takes just the spirit of ‘Devdas’ and woven it around contemporary headlines from the last 10-15 years. Though, Kashyap accepted that he never liked Sarat Chandra’s novel.

The story of the movie revolves around Dev (Abhay Deol), son of a rich industrialist, who is sent away to London when he was 12.Dev returns to his hometown and to Paro (Mahi Gill), his childhood sweetheart. Inseparable as they seem, a isunderstanding puts their lives in a tizzy; Paro is married off to someone else and Dev goes into severe depression.Post Paro’s marriage, DEV D starts going downhill. Lenny/Chanda’s MMS scandal is straight out of life and the reasons that make her turn into a hooker are well explained. But the sequences between Dev and Chanda lack fizz.

Dil Se - Movie Review - Shahrukh Khan, Preity Zinta

It is indeed a case of truth proving stranger than fiction with the release of a film on terrorism at the very height of a global terrorist scare. One would think that this fact could only aid "Dil Se" by heightening the impact on the audience. Unfortunately, this is not the case. "Dil Se" is a valiant effort on Mani Ratnam's part but gets lost somewhere along the way in a weak screenplay and sketchy characterizations.

The first half of "Dil Se" relies more on images than a solid screenplay, but Santosh Sivan's camera work is simply stunning and perhaps the best I've ever witnessed on the Hindi screen.The locations are gorgeous! Mr. Sivan single-handedly holds the audience's interest despite the fact that they are left to contend with the very drawn out interactions between Amar (Shahrukh) and a cold, lifeless caricature called "Meghna" (Manisha).

Amar is on a terrorist interview assignment for All-India Radio somewhere in a northern territory, where he keeps bumping into "Meghna" . Despite repeated attempts to get close to Meghna, all Amar really finds himself in is trouble, and after being ditched by Meghna, Amar quickly returns to his family in Delhi and an engagement to the frank and outspoken Preity (Preity Zinta).

Shahrukh's character talks forever about how much he loves Manisha, but his "love" really has no reason to be anything more than infatuation and intrigue. Not once do you have reason to suspect otherwise. Again, Shahrukh does the best one can do with his role, but the redundancy and ignorant nature of the part work against him. The chase sequence towards the end shows a new, diversely intense side to Mr. Khan's acting.

I would give this film a much, much lower rating. Ironically, with a title like "Dil Se", the film loses its heart somewhere along the way.
