Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, 1 x CCD, 10x Optical Zoom, 0.84 lb. , Battery life: Up to 2.08 Hours.

Weaknesses: Software came with the camcorder (Picture Works) is useless. Video is good but not excellent. Cannot use USB port to capture video. Video capture works only with firewire.

Overall Evaluation: Though compact and easy to use, the Sony DCR-HC20 Handycam delivers subpar video and still-image quality and lacks some critical features. This makes it difficult to recommend for any class of user.

The otical zoom is good and another advantage is remote operation and touch panel screen.
