Review of Sony Handycam DCR-TRV130 Digital-8 Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Digital-8, 1 x CCD, 20x Optical Zoom, 2 lb.

Weaknesses: could be smaller; manual focus is inconvinient; viewfinder is not adjustable for short sighted,Eats tapes quickly, no macro, difficult manual focus, not backwards compatible w/ analog tapes.

Overall Evaluation: Digital 8 system offers high quality digital images with over 500 lines of horizontal resolution and records 12 bit / 16 bit PCM digital audio. The Digital 8 Handycam is the only kind of Digital Handycam that can play back Video 8 and Hi8 analog video. Besides, the new recording pattern allows digital recording on 8mm tape1, enabling users to keep their collection of analog recordings. With the A/D conversion function, it is possible to transfer analog recordings to digital format.
The TRV130 has an excellent high quality digital picture with many bells and whistles for a good price. Excellent track record expected due to previous Sony ownership.The camera has a black and white eyepiece viewfinder and a color fold-out screen that disables the eyepiece when in use. Resolution on either the fold-out screen and the eyepiece are not true representations of what you get on your television during playback. The picture quality is incredible! The tiny screens on the camera can not do it justice. If you are at a store "test driving" the camera, keep that in mind.
The optics of the camera appear to be quite clear and gather plenty of light. The optical zoom goes out to 20X and the digital zoom reaches an incredible 560X! The zoom deteriorates though the further you zoom it out. At 560X, the image is nothing more than colored boxes.The TRV130 also has an anti-roll called "Steady Shot" that works as well as other brands if not better.

Price Range of Sony Handycam DCR-TRV130 : $588 - $588

New Honda VFR1000 Launch in India

Now Honda India is about planning to launch VFR1000 bike in India. VFR1000 bike is a 1000cc version of its existing Honda VFR800 bike in India in 2010.

Honda VFR1000

The Honda India said about the launching of new bike at the time of launch of new Honda CBF Stunner model. HMSI will import the 800cc bike, VFR800 as a CBU from the parent company, Honda Japan. It is also expected that Honda India will launch other bikes or scooters later this year.

They have been told that Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) is also planning to launch the new 1000cc variant of the VFR by 2010. HMSI sold 907,000 bikes in the financial year 2007-08 in India which is 27% up as compared to the 715,000 units sold in 2006-07.

Review and picture of Honda VFR800

The Honda VFR800

The Honda VFR800 was first introduced in 1983 with a 750 V4 engine (VFR750), since 1983 it is gone through a number of modification which have resulted in today's fuel injected, largely aluminium, modern 781 cc motor. This knocks out around 110 PS and can happily manage 150 mph in comfort. The fairing gives good weather protection as Honda spent some time developing the aerodynamics to improve airflow, it is also not too bulky compared to traditional tourers. If you apply front brake pressure, some effort will be transferred to the rear, while rear brake pressure transfers some to the front brakes.VFRs also feature a single sided swing arm which can make tyre changes easier. Under the fairing is Honda’s legendary and unique V4 engine which seems to capture the torque of a V-twin with the power and smoothness of an inline 4.

Review and Price of The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1

The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 Features:

-Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 has Great 3-inch touchscreen and slide-out QWERTY keyboard to fulfil your online communication and mutlimedia entertainment.

-Unlocked quad-band GSM cell phone compatible with 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies and US/International 3G compatibility via 850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA plus GPRS/EDGE data capabilities
-In Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 there is 3.2-megapixel camera/camcorder; secondary camera for video calls; Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system

-There is Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g), Bluetooth for handsfree devices and streaming music; assisted GPS; 400 MB internal memory and could be expandable via MicroSD in Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1
-Up to 10 hours of talk time on GSM networks, up to 580 hours (24 days) of standby time

The Good Points of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1:

- The combination of 3-inch wide VGA display and a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard make this gadget too cool for it's class.
- The sleek and unique design is uncomparable. Sony Ericsson is always innovative in design and feature.

- Wifi available :) that's always a good news :)
- Makes a compact smartphone with a dash of entertainment features and serious online or business applications.

The Bad Points of Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1:
- The price! It's not usual for Sony Ericsson to put a price tag like that.
- Usually Sony Ericsson is full of innovations. I don't see any new features in this product, except for the new design.

- I expected a better resolutions on the 3 inch display. Even the HTC-google android smartphone has a better resolution with a bigger display.
- The design is unique and modern at the same time, but after i saw many times, it's looks like a stiff MP4 player. Quite boring.

CONCLUSION

With great feature for entertainment and browsing, this smartphone is the perfect choice for travel kit. I think the sound is almost at the Walkman series. The rocket price, lack of new innovations and the boring design could make this smartphone not too popular in the smartphone competitions.

Lenovo Elite ThinkPad W700ds 17.0 Review

The Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds isn’t a replacement or a refresh of the original, but rather, an optional upgrade to the same basic platform that makes good on Lenovo’s long-rumored promise to launch a notebook with dual displays.

With a sliding 10.6 inch display that pops out from the space behind the original Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds's 17 inch panel, the Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds still doesn’t have the screen real estate of two full-size desktop displays. But it also gives the Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds platform yet another leg up on its rivals, and, especially, another enticement for graphics pros on the go.

Lenovo ThinkPad W700ds Specifications:

* Processor: Intel Core 2 Extreme Q9300 (2.53 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 12 MB L2 cache)
* Memory: 4 GB DDR3 SDRAM
* Screen: 17” 1920x1200 WUXGA TFT LCD and 10.6” 1280x760 TFT LCD
* Storage: 259 GB HDD (7200 RPM) x 2, RAID 0 configuration
* Optical Drive: DVD recordable
* Wireless: Intel Wi-Fi Link 5300 (802.11a/g/n), Bluetooth 2.0
* Graphics: NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700M with 1 GB
* Battery: 9-cell lithium-ion (84 Wh)
* Dimensions: 16.1” x 12.3” x 2.1”
* Weight: 10 lbs, 15 oz (with battery
* Price As Tested: $5,309.00
* Starting Price: $3,663.00

Secondary Display is The one feature that distinguishes the W700ds from the original W700 is its secondary screen. A second 10.6 inch, 1280x768 display is mounted in portrait orientation into a recess behind the primary panel, and can be popped out as desired to further expand the W700ds’s desktop area. As we noted in our first look at the W700ds, the screen can also be tilted forward about 30 degrees if desired, providing a more ideal viewing angle for the second display.

The bigger differences between the two displays, in fact, have to do with color reproduction, brightness, and clarity. The second display lacks the more highly reflective coating of its high-end companion, and with 280 NIT brightness (versus 400 on the primary display) and a narrower reproducible gamut, colors definitely don’t pop as much.

Pros:

* Desktop-like performance in a notebook – now with two screens!
* Build quality still as good as always
* Very good primary display with built-in color calibrator
* Keyboard is as good as the one on my desk

Cons:

* Built-in calibrator doesn’t support second display
* Small onboard digitizer features a terrible pen
* Multimedia performance doesn’t quite cut it
* Performance upgrades will elevate the price significantly

ipod nano in 8GB and 16GB

The latest version of fourth-generation iPod nano has the same size screen, the same 8 and 16GB storage and the same video support as before, but adds a much more comfortable with it's oval shape, a curved screen, an accelerometer and most importantly, a much improved user interface that aims to solve some of the limitations of iPod Touch and iPhone UIs. This evolution succeeds beautifully.

About hardware of iPod nano:

The very first thing about this ipod, you'll notice is that how much better the curved body feels in your hand.The brushed metal feels great, looks great. This ipod also thinner, because it tapers off to the sides.Pocket-ability of nenos is definitely important.Games, which were on the nano before, can also access motion-sensing. The built-in marble maze game is as good as the ones we've seen in the App Store. The "shake to shuffle" feature picks a random song when you jiggle the nano, but is smart enough to not skip tracks if the screen is off or if the hold switch is on. You can of course disable the thing entirely if you're listening to music on a bulldozer.

About The software of ipod nano:

The portrait UI is also a great improvement over the the fat nano landscape UI, and makes much better use of the available real estate. The new menu and display fills up the entire top half of device, which gives you more list items at once. Scrolling through menus and Cover Flow is as fast as we've seen on any iPod.

On the other hand genius playlist creation, which recommends music already on your device based a starting point of any song in your library, worked well. When generating one from MGMT's Electric Feel, genius recommended The Shins, Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Beck and Damien Rice.

This generation comes in nine colors, which include pink, purple, black and silver, but no white. It's also the first nano to use solely USB charging, so old Firewire chargers are rendered useless. If you're into Apple and looking for a midrange media player, you should have no hesitations in picking one up. Otherwise, your current player will do just fine.

Some Disadvantage of ipod neno:

• You can't adjust volume when in landscape mode because it's locked into Cover Flow. Tough to adjust blindly when you've got the iPod in your jacket.

• The headphone output volume is slightly louder than the iPhone's.

• Shuffle by shake does NOT always work reliably. Lam looks crazy shaking this thing waiting for it to make the chime sound indicating its being shuffled. Also, there's a great chance that most people will never know to shake this thing—there are no indicators in the UI to let people know this is a command. (If you're buying one for mom, better show her how its done.)

• The glare due to the curved screen is more annoying outdoors, where you not only get glaer, but a slight warping of the glare like a funhouse mirror.

Sony Handycam DCR-VX1000 Mini DV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, NTSC, 3 x CCD, 10x Optical Zoom, 3.25 lb. , Battery life: Up to 1.75 Hours.

Overall Evaluation: This camcorder offers unequaled picture clarity due to its digital video format. Videos recorded in DV can have up to two times the horizontal resolution of VHS and three times the component color sampling. This results in sharper, brighter colors. Your videos will look like a pro's, because the time base correction will eliminate the "jitters" encountered in some tapes. Adaptive Frame Interpolation interpolates both fields into one frame and smoothes out jagged, stair-step images. 4-capsule microphone provides crystal clear stereo separation and superior digital wind noise reduction. Each CCD of 3-CCD imaging system has 410, 000 pixels for brilliant digital picture quality. Dichroic Prism divides incoming light into red, green, and blue components for incredibly sharp and rich color.

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV103 Digital-8 Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Digital-8, 1 x CCD, 20x Optical Zoom, 2.1 lb. , Battery life: Up to 10 Hours.

Overall Evaluation: Sony digital camcorder lets you capture life's precious moments with quality and ease. New Sony DCR-TRV103 incorporates Digital8 Video Recording that records digital video and audio for outstanding digital quality with up to 500 lines of horizontal resolution. This Handycam camcorder has the ability to playback virtually any 8mm or Hi8 Tape. This camera is also capable of recording 12 Bit or 16 Bit PCM digital stereo audio. New 20x Optical/360x Digital Zoom brings the action up close from far away. 2.5" Active Matrix LCD Screen provides excellent viewing clarity, with improved resolution. Steadyshot Picture Stabilization is the image stabilization system using motion sensors that compensates for camera "shake". With Sony's NightShot system you can capture video even when shooting in total darkness (0 lux) up to 10 feet away using the built-in infrared system. By applying slow shutter in the NightShot mode picture quality is increased. LaserLink Wireless Transmitter with TV Control provides wireless connection.

Review of Sony Handycam® DCR-TRV70 Mini DV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, NTSC, 1 x CCD, Up to 1.92 Megapixels Still Shots, 10x Optical Zoom, 1 lb. , Battery life: Up to 2.08 Hours.

Overall Evaluation: The DCR-TRV70 MiniDV Handycam® Camcorder gives you a huge, easy-to-view color SwivelScreen? LCD and a massive 2.0 megapixel resolution, delivering exceptional-quality digital video, digital audio, and digital still images everytime you turn it on. It brings home the functionality of a digital still camera and digital camcorder all in one amazingly compact package. Sony ingenuity makes it ultra-functional, with convenient tools and powerful performance capabilities ranging from an advanced Carl Zeiss? T* Lens ? which makes it possible to shoot video in more natural and true-to-life conditions ? Memory Stick® Media storage, an intelligent pop-up flash and a new touch panel (with included stylus) that can be used to access the functions of the camcorder. This network-ready camcorder also features Hologram AF for sharper focus, while the Super NightShot® 0 Lux system allows you to take beautiful video images in the dark. Kit includes: DCR-TRV70 Camcorder and free carrying case.
The CCD produces wonderful looking video under good lighting conditions and the low light performance, although not as good as it could be - is certainly acceptable. The 2 Megapixel CCD produces really great looking stills, and if you are shopping for a still camera camcorder hybrid, the DCR-TRV70 is a great choice. However, if you're on a budget, I would recommend saving money and going with the DCR-TRV38 or the DCR-TRV39 - both of which are much better buys. The DCR-TRV70 offers really solid performance, however it's disappointing manual control and it's one CCD can't compete with the Panasonic PV-DV953, the clear leader in this price category. Although I would recommend the PV-DV953 over the DCR-TRV70 as an overall better camcorder, the DCR-TRV70 is still a good choice - especially if you are really into still photography in your camcorder.

Price Range: $938 - $938

Sony Handycam DCR-TRV38 Mini DV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, NTSC, 1 x CCD, Up to 1 Megapixels Still Shots, 10x Optical Zoom, 1.44 lb. , Battery life: Up to 1.58 Hours.
Overall Evaluation: The DCR-TRV38 compact mini DV camcorder offers digital video and audio recording. The Digital technology delivers rich and accurate picture quality with up to 520 lines of resolution.
The DCR-TRV38 performs wonderfully in normal lighting conditions producing vivid colors. The camcorder does pretty well in low light conditions as well. The camcorder offers good control options with the manual focus ring, however I do wish that everything wasn't pushed back into the LCD. I like the DCR-TRV38 a lot and I think that it is the best buy in the under $1,500 Sony line right now, however the DCR-TRV38 is competing with the Canon Optura 20 a very solid model. The Optura 20 certainly offers better control options, but the DCR-TRV38's superior low light performance makes me choose it over the Optura 20.

Price Range: $528 - $639

Sony Handycam DCR-IP5 Micro MV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Micro MV, NTSC, 1 x CCD, 10x Optical Zoom, 0.63 lb. , Battery life: Up to 1.33 Hours.

Weaknesses: WILL NOT WORK WITH MACS!!! Noticable compression, Expensive Tapes, Zoom button is pretty touchy.

Overall Evaluation: DCR-IP5, the world's smallest handycam, features a revolutionary ultra-compact recording media. Also known as the "Network Handycam IP (Image Portal)", the basic concept for using "IP" is to stand for the new generation, MPEG-2 recording format and PC/network friendly format, which is different from the conventional video camera concept. The DCR-IP5 makes use of an innovative new storage medium to achieve its minute proportions. The MICROMV cassette is barely as large as a postage stamp, with a size that's 70% smaller than a MiniDV cassette.??In the search for a new format, Sony selected MPEG-2 compression due to the already widely accepted popularity of DVD players and software. MPEG-2 provides faithful compression of high-quality image data, encouraging the miniaturization of the recording media. Coupled with optical coating technology, Carl Zeiss lenses promise better contrast, color saturation and image brilliance. Only the world's best optical block complements Sony's advanced digital imaging know-how.

Price Range: $449 - $788

All New Sony Handycam DCR-TRV900 Mini DV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, NTSC, 3 x CCD, Up to 0.31 Megapixels Still Shots, 12x Optical Zoom, 1.94 lb. , Battery life: Up to 1.25 Hours.

Weaknesses: No XLR mic inputs, key adustments via menus rather than physical dials, high price.

Overall Evaluation: The Sony DCR-TRV900 can handle up to eight hours recording. The 12X Optical Zoom lets you move in or pull back for wide shots, while the Precision 48X Digital Zoom uses a Hyper-Precision CCD to maintain superior image detail. There's an Optical Super SteadyShot Image Stabilization System, a Memory Mode for Still Image Capture and even picture effects to help you get the look you want. You'll never run out of ways to use this Sony.
Sony's DCR-TRV900 (Epinions has left out the "V" in the product ID) has quite a few similarities to the VX1000. Like the VX1000, the TRV900 has been on the market for a few years (since around the beginning of 1998) and is a three-chip camcorder. With its body mainly consisting of metal, magnesium-alloy, the TRV900 is also fairly sturdy, though it's not quite as tough as the VX1000. Unlike the VX1000, the TRV900 has never been replaced. Sony has updated the models in their MiniDV line below the TRV900, the TRV07 and TRV10, replacing these recently with the TRV11 and TRV20, but the TRV900 still stands at the top of the consumer-level product line.

Price Range: $1288 - $1299

Review -Sony Handycam® DCR-HC20 Mini DV Camcorder

Strengths: Digital, Mini DV, 1 x CCD, 10x Optical Zoom, 0.84 lb. , Battery life: Up to 2.08 Hours.

Weaknesses: Software came with the camcorder (Picture Works) is useless. Video is good but not excellent. Cannot use USB port to capture video. Video capture works only with firewire.

Overall Evaluation: Though compact and easy to use, the Sony DCR-HC20 Handycam delivers subpar video and still-image quality and lacks some critical features. This makes it difficult to recommend for any class of user.
The Sony DCR-HC20 MiniDV Handycam Camcorder packs big features in a small package. Dev D Movie Review

This time director Anurag Kashyap has come up with the latest version. If you watch the movie, you’ll find a major difference between K.L. Saigal, Dilip Kumar, Shah Rukh Khan and Abhay Deol’s Devdas.

Let me clarify that how the DEV D is different from others. Dev, the lead character of the move, is into drugs and vodka. Paro sends her nude pic to Dev via email and later, wants Dev to have sex with her in the fields. Chanda, a hooker, indulges in phone sex mainly. Clearly, Kashyap’s Dev, Paro and Chanda are audacious and rebellious.

Emotional Attyachar BandOne can say that DEV D is a bridge between original and Bhasali’s Devdas. In ‘Dev D’ the director takes just the spirit of ‘Devdas’ and woven it around contemporary headlines from the last 10-15 years. Though, Kashyap accepted that he never liked Sarat Chandra’s novel.

The story of the movie revolves around Dev (Abhay Deol), son of a rich industrialist, who is sent away to London when he was 12.Dev returns to his hometown and to Paro (Mahi Gill), his childhood sweetheart. Inseparable as they seem, a isunderstanding puts their lives in a tizzy; Paro is married off to someone else and Dev goes into severe depression.Post Paro’s marriage, DEV D starts going downhill. Lenny/Chanda’s MMS scandal is straight out of life and the reasons that make her turn into a hooker are well explained. But the sequences between Dev and Chanda lack fizz.

Cast: Abhay Deol, Mahi Gill, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kalki Koechlin and others
Director: Anurag Kashyap

Slumdog Millionaire-10 oscar nomineted

Jamal Malik (Dev Patel) is a street kid (or "slumdog") who has landed an appearance on India's version of the hit TV game show Kaun Banega Karorpati? Jamal exceeds expectations on the show, and the producers alert the police after they become suspicious of his methods. The young contestant is subsequently arrested and is interrogated at the hands of a nameless police inspector (played by Irfan Khan). As the interrogation proceeds, Boyle tells Jamal's story through harrowing flashbacks that both show the terrible poverty of Mumbai and help explain how he knew the answers to the MILLIONAIRE questions. SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE is a tightly bonded story that has been expertly edited into shape. The contrast between Jamal's upbringing and his chance of escaping it on the show are adeptly juxtaposed. Mumbai is portrayed as a place of terrifying poverty and unforgettable brutality, and Jamal and his brother get into a never-ending succession of challenging situations. But the way Boyle ties together Jamal's life experiences with his answers on the show is quite brilliant, and the film really does run the full gamut of emotions as we see him growing up, falling in love, coming close to death, and teetering on the brink of escaping from his terrible predicament.
